Eagle Springs Golf & Country Club, previously named Brighton Crest Country Club is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Friant, California, only 40 miles from Yosemite National Forest.
The course opened in 1990 and was designed by Johnny Miller.
The Eagle Springs Golf Course was built on the foothills resulting in undulating fairways. The signature hole is #17, a 401-yard, par 4, requiring a shot past a lake on the left side of the fairway.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,788 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,195 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 523 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 136 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 437 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Eagle Springs is # 11, the 136 yard par-3.

Sometimes there is slow play but it has been improving and when marshaled appropriately it can be solved. Everything else about this course is a golfer's paradise!

This course may well be the best between LA and the SF/SAC area. It is now named Eagle Springs and has had an infusion of big money to improve fairways, greens, golf carts and tee boxes. Also a new Golf Supt is making a huge difference in every aspect of the game. Don't pass up this course if you are in the area. Closed on Tuesdays.

I have played here 3 times on weekends. The 1st tee is consistantly backed up with multiple groups. This visit we were 25 minutes late getting off the tee, and the round took 5 hours not including the delay. Considering the track record at the 1st tee and the $60.00 green fee, they need a starter. Also, 5 hours is too long for a round of golf. I never once saw a marshall. For the price, they should have had one. Again, $60.00 is too much to pay for the experience

Next time, after aerating, roll the greens. They were bumpy

I've played this Johnny Miller course that is set in the foothills often, and I like all but two things about it: the first and the eighteenth holes. There are a lot of interesting and fair holes, some with great views, but the opening and closing holes rely on some odd features (particularly trees in the landing areas).
