Detailed description

Lonesome Dove Golf Course, previously named Polvadero Community Golf Cours, is a Public 9 hole golf course located in Coalinga, California.

Lonesome Dove Golf Course first opened for play in 1937. Bob Baldock redesigned the "back nine" in the 1960's. There are additional tees that can be used double looping for an eighteen hole round.

Lonesome Dove Golf Course has palm trees lining the fairways and surrounding the greens. Water hazards, in the form of ponds, come into play on five holes. The terrain varies between hilly and flat. The signature hole is #8 because of the two ponds that provide a scenic view from off the tee box.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,390 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,750 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 552 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 16, a par-3 that plays to 135 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 384 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Lonesome Dove Golf Course is # 16, the 135 yard par-3. The signature hole is #8 because of the two ponds that provide a scenic view from off the tee box.
