Encanto Park Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in the core of the Historic District in Phoenix, Arizona.
William P. Bell designed both the traditional 18-hole championship course and the executive 9-hole course, which is just a block away.
Course bunkers were renovated September - October 2019. The renovation included extracted of old sand, reshaping of bunker floors and faces, installing drainage, and adding/replacing with new bunker sand in all bunkers.
The course first opened for play in 1936. It's Arizona's third oldest golf course. This city-owned golf course offers a relaxed atmosphere and a golf design with wide fairways and a limited number of water hazards. The course has an abundance of mature palm and salt cedar trees, plus some truly spectacular views of downtown Phoenix.
Encanto is ideally suited for the average golfer. It's level fairways are wide and it has a limited number of hazards. Amenities include driving range and practice green.

A Phoenix City course, so with PHX card (available to all Maricopa County residents), the price is among the best, especially walking. Course condition is good, especially for the price. Other courses are more challenging, but though flat and open it's not as easy as it looks (don't get off the side into the trees or OB). Our group uses this as kind of a "fallback" course if no others are open when we want to play or are too expensive (most of them are this time of year in PHX - we're retirees...).

Seemed a little pricy for the track. Some other munis in Phoenix/Scottsdale are a little nicer.
