Detailed description

Montgomery National Golf Club, previously named Cottonwood Golf Club,  is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Montgomery, Alabama.

The course opened for play in 1975. The course was designed by Byron Nelson and Joseph S. Finger. This traditional course features somewhat generous fairways and average-sized greens.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,115 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,439 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 542 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 186 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 16, a 474 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, a 190 yard par-3.

Hole #14 is the Signature Hole. Two large Oak trees guard the right side of the fairway. The left side of the fairway is guarded by two large sand traps 260 yards from the Tee Box. The second shot brings the lake into play on the left, and another set of sand traps guard the right side. The approach must be played across the lake, to a large green that is guarded in the right front and back by sand traps.
