Montgomery National Golf Club, previously named Cottonwood Golf Club, is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Montgomery, Alabama.
The course opened for play in 1975. The course was designed by Byron Nelson and Joseph S. Finger. This traditional course features somewhat generous fairways and average-sized greens.

Watch out for # 16, a 474 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, a 190 yard par-3.
Hole #14 is the Signature Hole. Two large Oak trees guard the right side of the fairway. The left side of the fairway is guarded by two large sand traps 260 yards from the Tee Box. The second shot brings the lake into play on the left, and another set of sand traps guard the right side. The approach must be played across the lake, to a large green that is guarded in the right front and back by sand traps.

Course has changed owners since the last time I played it. The greens were in TERRIBLE condition!! Lots of bare spots. Tee box markers were missing, you couldn't tell half the time if you were playing from the right ones.
