Detailed description

Mcfarland Park Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Florence, Alabama.

Mcfarland Park Golf Course opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Earl Stone.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to ,6660 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,741 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 575 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 13, a par-3 that plays to 161 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 18, the 575 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 7, a 175 yard par-3.

This heavily-wooded course is unique because each hole is individually defined by the numerous trees lining the fairways. The greens are elevated and there are no sand bunkers. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on fifteen separate occasions. The course sits on the banks of the Tennessee River.

Mcfarland Park Golf Course closed as a golf course in 2000. A driving range remains open in the summer months. The course has been re-purposed as a disc golf course.
