About Bent Brook Golf Course

Bent Brook Golf Course is a 27-hole public golf course located in Bessemer, Alabama. Bent Brook has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations.

All three 9 hole courses have wide-open fairways with only a few trees that can affect your shots, but a standard cut of rough gives them definition. The greens are exceptionally large, slightly undulating, and fast. All three courses were built on rolling terrain.

The Brook Course is the longest of the three courses. Water hazards come into play on six holes.

The Graveyard Course has water hazards coming into play on seven holes.

Locals consider the Windmill Course as the easiest to score well on because it has the least amount of water hazards.

Greens were replanted with a new hybrid bent grass called AU Victory Bent and they are SPECTACULAR. The fairways and rough are pristine as well as the sand bunkers. This course is in the best shape of any in the Birmingham area and is a MUST if you are coming through the area. The staff was polite and knowledgeable of the course and of the game of golf and the course offers great practice areas. I will play this course until I can't play anymore!!

Would travel: 120-300 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Best course in the area

This was the first time I played it and knowledge of the layout, in spite of the GPS, would have saved me a few strokes. The greens are in rough shape from last years heat and have a ways to go before they are good; very rough and bumpy. Should look pretty when the grass is green again (no overseeding).

Would travel: 20-30 Miles
Bottom line: I would play again
