Peninsula State Park Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Fish Creek, Wisconsin.
The course first opened for play in 1921. The course as we know it today was designed by Larry Packard in 1963..
The course was built in a wooded area, so expect the fairways to be lined with mature trees. In addition, there are has three major hills that will cause uneven lies. The signature hole is #8, a 69-yard, par 3, which requires a tight shot through the trees. Don't let this hole's distance fool you, if you miss hit your shot you're in trouble.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,304 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5350 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 563 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 69 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 424 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, a 130 yard par-3.

A must play when vacationing in Door County. Some spectacular views of Green Bay.(the body of water, not the city) The "signature" #8 hole, a short 69 yard par 3 from which you tee from a cliff is rather silly. However, #10 and #12 are two tremendous par 4s; fun, challenging and very scenic. Pace of play at times can be rather pokey as vacationer pose for pictures at some of the more scenic spots.

I finally made it to this legendary public golf course with its impressive views of Green Bay from the Western side of the Door County Peninsula. Unfortunately, I had to accept a twilight tee time which limited my visit to nine holes. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the fairways were excellent. I did get to play the signature par 3 hole nicknamed "The Drop." From the 8th tee, you need to hit a soft wedge off of a steep cliff and drop your golf ball on to the putting green below. I made the green, but failed on my birdie attempt which missed the edge of the cup and rolled too far for an easy par putt. The golf course is expensive (I paid the holiday rate), but it is definitely worth it. The turf is exceptional in the fairways. The tees are good too. My only negative experiences were the tourist golfers who did not keep pace or those who failed to rake their sand traps.
