Lido Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located convenient to Manhattanites and Long Islanders in Lido Beach, New York. Perhaps, to convenient as this allows for large neumbers of golfers and slow play.
Lido Golf Club opened for play in 1956. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones.
A terrific links golf course with breathtaking ocean view, this links-style course has almost no hills. Water comes into play on at least five holes. There are many elevated greens, and some holes have narrow fairways.
# 5 (175 yard Par 3 from the back tees), and # 13 (436 yard Par 4) lie along the Atlantic Ocean, andare a pleasure to play and to take in the joy of the location.. Water comes into play on a few other holes as well, courtesy of the Reynolds Channel.
#16 is Lido's "signature" hole, a 487 yard Par 5 that requires two shots to carry two separate water hazards. The fairway is split in two, with the left side being the safer play. If you go right and make it across the Channel (about 180-200 to carry and just about 70 yards ahead of that before the fairway ends), you’ll still have another large body of water to challenge your second shot..
Blue tees: par 71, 6,868 yards
White tees: par 71, 6,387 yards
Red tees: par-72, 5,603 yards

Played Lido today - unexplained 1/2 hour tee time delay from starter that turned into 45 minutes. Front 9 took 3hrs 20 min - we left.

My son and I had a great day at Lido, it's a good course if you've played it before. Windy, bugs but you are outside on a golf course. The current management has done a great job getting this course in the shape it's in now as opposed to 5 years ago when I wouldn't go there.

Constantly damp fairways and high winds due to nearby ocean and bay surrounding the course. Greens a bit slow for putting. Excellent semi-links style course

Needs work on the fairways badly
