Sparrow Hawk Golf Course opened as an 18-hole course in 1964.
Jeff Gorney designed the new nine holes in 1964 that complimented the original nine holes (once rated by the National Golf Foundation as one of the top nine hole courses in the region), and in the process, created an exciting eighteen hole course. The terrain on this course varies from gently rolling to hilly, so expect many uneven lies. Some of the fairways are heavily wooded, while others are wide open. In addition, a creek meandering throughout the course.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 5,804 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,708 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 522 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 122 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 428 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 12, a 122 yard par-3.
