Due to “Social Distancing” in Michigan it is walking only and what a walk it is. This is a rolling wooded Par 36/36 layout with five (5) tees from 6,628yd/72.7/133 down to 5,087yd/69.4/119. Playing #2 hole Par 4 at 422yds all uphill had me moving from Black/Tips to the Green at 6,244yds. Both Par 3’s #3/#6 were playing 177yds today and missing short or long is your best choice, if not hitting green. The #4 is a 529yd narrow Par 5 with bunkers at every landing area to a uphill finish. The #7 a 490yd Par 5 allows you to gain confidence but stay to RH side to hit tucked LH green. Back 9 starts out with a uphill tee shot on the 555yd Hcp 6 #10 Par 5 that finishes to a hilltop protected green with short being ok. The #12 a 321yd Hcp 18 Par 4 allows you an easy Par if you stay on RH side. The #13 a 183yd Par 3 has a severe LH drop off so favor RH side on any misses. The course relaxes a bit on #17 the 497yd double dogleg Par 5 if you stay in center cut and hit the protected elevated green. Saving the Hcp 2 hole a 435yd Par 4 for last, puts your game to a real test. The downhill tee adds distance but accuracy is need for that 180-200yd 2nd shot and don’t miss right. Enjoyed the great conditions from tee to green and the soft sand traps were a welcomed sight. Ended up shooting 38/41 w/33 putts on this cool and windy day.
