Standard Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Club was founded as a social organization in 1873 and incorporated in 1885. In 1910, the Club relocated to acquire a golf course. Standard rented property from the Louisville Water Company on River Road at Zorn Avenue which included nine holes of the golf course formerly occupied by Louisville Golf Club. In 1946 Standard purchased property on Brownsboro Road (Highway.22) which was later developed and is the location of the current clubhouse, golf course, swimming pool, and tennis courts. A new clubhouse and a nine-hole golf course opened to members in 1952. The course was expanded to 18 holes in 1960. The course was designed by Robert B. Harris.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,762 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,197 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 11, a par-5 that plays to 583 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 168 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 8, a 509-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Standard Country Club Golf Course is # 15, a 181 yard par-3.
