Craig Woods Golf Course first opened for play in 1982. The course was designed by Roger Craig. The course is owned and operated by the same folks who own the ajacent 18-hole Crystal Woods Golf Course.
Located immediately across Rt. 47 from Crystal Woods, Craig Woods was designed to give beginners, juniors, seniors and even seasoned golfers a challenging tract on which to develop and hone their skills. Water hazards that come into play on at least five holes. In addition, a few of the fairways are tree lined, but most are fairly open. The greens are small and difficult to hit in regulation. The signature island green of the third hole tests the shot-making ability of golfers with all levels of experience. Those not anxious to test their mettle can opt for the adjacent green which is surrounded by terra firma. However, slicers will still have to take care to avoid an unfortunate splash-down.
Craig Woods Golf Course plays to a par-34 and 2,290 yards from the back tees.

One of the best nine-hole courses anywhere. Every hole is different. The island green par-3 number 3 hole is one of the toughest holes in Chicagoland. Number 5 is my favorite. Par 3 170 yards. Giant trees hug both sides. Number 7 is a blast. No houses anywhere.
