Detailed description

Blackhawk Trace Golf Club at Indian Lakes resort is a 27 hole resort Golf course located in Bloomington, Illinois. The club offers three nine-hole courses -- the Highland, Woodlands, and Island -- which give the option of playing just nine holes of three different 18-hole combinations.

The courses opened for play in 1965. Blackhawk was designed by Robert Bruce Harris. The course underwent a $3 million dollar renovation by Rick Jacobsen in 2003.

The traditional '60s-era bunkers were replaced with dramatically sloped sand traps that present a test for even the best golfers. Although the renovations added to the golf course's difficulty, four different sets of tees allow golfers to play to their abilities.

Woodland Nine

The Woodland Course is the longest of the three nines at 3,480 yards from the back tees. The Woodlands is a course that will appeal to players of all skill levels.

Highland Nine

Almost as long as the Woodland, and just as challenging is the Highland course ar 3,449 yards.

Island Nine

All three nines are distinct, though the Island Nine, with its 155 yard island green par-3 hole, is the favorite of most golfers. It's only 6 yards shorter than the Highland course measuring 2,443 yards from the tips.

Closed end of 2016 season.

The Hilton Chicago/Indian Lakes Resort permanently close its golf course and conference center as part of a plan to save and improve the hotel on the Bloomingdale property.

The course had lost $5 million dollars since 2011.
