Conquistador Golf Course is championship 18-hole golf course with sand traps, water hazards, practice driving range and putting green. The Conquistador has its own personality and stunning panoramic scenery. From almost any spot on the course one can view La Plata Peak, Mesa Verde, and Sleeping Ute Mountain. Water hazards (lakes and creeks) come into play on eight of the eighteen hole Championship Golf Course, and the small greens are moderately undulating. The Conquistador course is mostly flat and lined by Ponderosa pine and piÃ±on trees. This public course is open March 1 through November 15 depending on the weather.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6852 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5576 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 540 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 170 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 4, a 540 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Conquistador is # 12, a 180 yard par-3.
