Detailed description

Tyee Valley Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Seatac, Washington.

Tyee Valley Golf Club first opened for play in 1968. The course was designed by Roy Moore.

For years the Tyree was an 18-hole, par-71, 5,926-yard golf course. The course had a flat front nine and a hilly back nine. Water came into play on several holes.

Located at the south end of SeaTac International Airport, Tyree was a bit noisy with jets landing and taking off and the course in the flight path.

Mark Olson was Golf Pro from 1990 to 1999 when Roy Moore made the decision to retire and Mark decided to assume the property lease.

That same year the restaurant and lounge, as well as the driving range, closed.  The course was shortened to 17 holes in 2001; subsequently reduced to 12 and finally reduced to 9 holes to make way for the airport expansion of the third runway and other various port projects.

In 2011, in the second year of a roll-over five-year lease, the FAA advised Sea-Tac airport operations and the Port of Seattle to close the golf course. Mark was allowed to keep the course open through the end of the existing lease.

Tyee Golf Course closed on 26 October 2014 ending almost 50 years of golf operations.
